I grew up in Colorado riding horses, where I developed the passion for horses and veterinary medicine. I got a bachelors degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University before moving across the ocean. I attended the Royal Veterinary College in London, England for vet school where I achieved my dream of becoming a veterinarian. After graduation I moved back to the United States where I completed a rotating internship in the equine hospital at Kansas State University in Manhattan Kansas. After finishing in Kansas I accepted a secondary internship at the University of Missouri in Equine Medicine and Surgery. Upon completion of this second internship I made the move to Prince Edward Island.
As the Large Animal Internal Medicine resident I get to work with all types of large animals, from horse to cows to alpacas and everything in between, investigating illness and disease of every character. Horses hold a particular place in my heart and I love getting to work with them every day. My favorite patients in the hospital are the foals and calves as neonatology is one of my favorite aspects of internal medicine. I also thoroughly enjoy investigating neurologic diseases and metabolic disorders.
When I am not in the hospital doting on my patients, I enjoy spending time at home with my two cats, Mayhem and Mischief. These two orange agents of chaos prefer me to be home where they can spend every waking moment cuddled against me while I study and play video games. If I can manage to extract myself from the cats I try to get outside and ride horse or explore around the island.
