I am from PEI and was fortunate to be able to do all of my education in PEI. I received my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UPEI. I also continued my training and in 2013 became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Equine Practice.
I am a horse specialist and spend most of my days on farm calls looking after horses throughout PEI. Our Ambulatory Equine Service provides routine and more specialized care for our equine patients. My area of clinical interest include preventive medicine, dentistry, sports medicine, racetrack practice and equine welfare. My research interests are focused on sports medicine and equine welfare, specifically as it pertains to the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Equines.
In 2022 I adopted 3 kittens who were littermates. Simba, Tulip and Penny certainly keep me busy and entertained! I also have 2 horses, a retired 24 year old Standardbred named Maia who I have owned for 21 years and a rescue horse that I adopted in 2015. I enjoy volunteering with various veterinary organizations throughout North America.
