I completed my veterinary degreeI graduated from AVC in 1999 and went to work in private dairy practices in Wisconsin and Michigan. In 2004, I entered graduate school at The Ohio State University where I obtained board certification and Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine in 2008 and completed my PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology in 2011. My PhD work was on antimicrobial (ceftiofur) resistance in Salmonella and E.coli on dairy farms. From 2008-2011, I was a clinical instructor in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine at Ohio State. In 2013, I returned to AVC as an assistant professor of Farm Service and Public Health.
I am a member of the Farm Service team and provide ambulatory service to dairy, beef and other ruminant farms on PEI. My professional interests are in dairy production, food safety, and antimicrobial use and resistance on dairy farms.
