Dr. McClure is a Professor in the Department of Health Management at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island. He received his DVM from Louisiana State University in 1989 and completed a combined residency and Master of Science program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994. He is boarded certified in the specialty of Large Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM- Large Animal). He was on faculty at the University of Minnesota and University of Wisconsin-Madison before arriving at AVC in 1989. His clinical interests include clinical pharmacology, infectious diseases, infection control, and population medicine. His research interest includes antimicrobial pharmacology, antimicrobial resistance and stewardship, large animal neonatal immunology, zoonotic diseases, and food safety/infectious disease issues.
